Trail Ride
I trot down the dirt road on the solid dapple mare, Wipeout. Seeing the road branch in two ways up ahead I halt the mare and look which way they are going. They both seemed to lead into the denser part of the forrest so I edged her on again into a steady trot going left. Very soon the path wore away into nothing and Wipeout stepped onto springy grass and leaf matter. I slowed the mare to a walk and weaved slowly through the trees whistling. "Been a while since we did this Wipeout. Was starting to miss the easy riding." I said smiling going up a slight hill and then down the other side. The forrest didn't lok like it was going to end any time soon so I got her into a trot the canter as the adrenaline pumped as we got dangerously close to tree branches weaving in between the dense trees moving almost at a 90 degree angle every stride I laughed as Wipeout seemed to enjoy the challenge too she was getting very fricky as the young filly in ehr came out. We soon broke out of the trees straight into a full blown gallop across a short meadow then back into the forrest again. I pulled her up to a trot then slowly to a walk again. "Woo that was fun ay." I said to he rpatting her neck as she pranced a little then settled after a while walking through the less dense forrest now.

Training with Maria Esperanza
I pat the stunning mare as i lead her out of the main barn and up to the training arena. I had got her quite used to the halter and leadrope, plus human handling and she was doing great. To be honest, she loved the attention. I smile as she nudges my shoulder eager for more TLC. I laugh softly. Okay girl. Now be a good girl for me today okay? Your mommy's watching. I cooe. At once her ears perk up and dial turns as she hears the word 'mommy'. Once Wipeout finds her owner she whinnies happily, starting to prance as i lead her into the arena. Good girl... Steady. I say as i pat her neck. She snorts softly as she slows back to a walk, calming down instantly as she felt the touch of a kind person. I smile and lead her into the centre of the arena, halting her at X. I check all her boots are on properly, the tail bandage is on, and her mane is braided correctly. Yep. She looked beautiful. I was very proud of her. She was becoming much more friendly as i put her amongst the broodmares-to-be in the American Barn. I pat her neck and then go back into my showing mode. I cluck once and give a slight tap behind her shoulder. She instantly moves off at an active walk, going good. I smile and nod to her as a sign she did good. I lead her down the centre line and then turn left at C, going around the outside track. She walks on great but i can tell she's getting faster as we approach near Amnic. I quickly give a tug on the reins and slow my speed. She immediately notices the change in pace and soon steadies herself. Good, good. I nod again. She seemed to be getting the hang of this. Maybe a simple circle now. 20 metre circle at A. Perfect. I start to plan it out in my head and then come back to reality as Wipeout starts to twist her head round to look at her mommy. I give a tug on the reins and lean my body slightly against hers. She immediately spins her head round and forward so she could see me and i come off her. She realises what she did wrong and i nod. Good girl. Learning. I smile softly and we go onto the 20 metre circle without any further difficulties. Now the trot. The hardest thing for some horses. Some just want to trot like you do when riding and go forward, a lot faster then a mere human. So they needed to find the correct active pace yet be able to do it naturally. I go large on the arena and cooe softly to Wipeout to regain her attention. Ears flick towards me and she snorts softly. Good girl. I nod and then keep the walk forward going. I then cluck and give a tap behind the shoulder like last time and speed to a run. Wipeout moves up to a trot, going very forward at first, almost dragging me but she soon realises before i even tug on the reins (and that is fast!) and slows her pace down to a steadied active trot. She was even so extrodinary she extended her trot beautifully, banner streaming out behind her with incredible beauty and grace. I smile and nod, proud of the hard work she was putting in. I slow my pace gradually and she takes it in and slows her pace too. Soon we are walking active and happy, both slightly tired out but very very happy. I smile and halt her at X, giving her a huge hug and a pat. Good girl! I smile. I then lead her over to Amnic and beam. So, what do you think? I smile.
